Giammarco Cottani is partner of the firm since September 2015. He coordinates the transfer pricing practice, with regard to both the prevention and resolution of domestic and international disputes and the assistance in complex audits of large multinational enterprise groups.
From 2011 to July 2015 he held the role of advisor to italian tax authorities on international tax and transfer pricing. He focused on international tax issues related to large multinational groups and SMEs, with a specific focus on transfer pricing. He was one of the delegates for Italy in the OECD-G20 Action Plan on BEPS.
From 2009 to 2011 he worked as a Transfer Pricing Advisor in the transfer pricing unit of the OECD. He was involved in the introduction of the new Chapter IX of the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines concerning business restructurings. He ran more than 20 events in the area of transfer pricing for a number of tax administrations of non-OECD countries.
He has served as a member of the UN Sub-Committee Group on transfer pricing, which was in charge of drafting the Practical Manual on Transfer Pricing for Developing Countries. He is also involved in providing technical assistance to developing countries on behalf of UN.
He is a member of the faculty of the International Tax Center of Leiden University for transfer pricing and of the TP Center of WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). He regularly teaches in a number of graduate and post-graduated courses on transfer pricing both in Italy and abroad.
He graduated in Law at LUISS – Guido Carli University in Rome. He achieved an LL.M. in European and International Taxation from the European Tax College (Tilburg and Leuven). He achieved a PhD in Corporate Taxation from LUISS – Guido Carli University.
He is admitted to the Italian Bar Association in Milan.
